The Temple of Selemlis encloses the main market of the city, by the south gate. It is surrounded by a high wall and includes both a market square, normally used as a food and animal market, and the covered market. The whole temple is sealed at nightfall and opened at dawn. The temple has its own guard force that protects it from thieves, as well as its formidable magical defences. There is also a small shrine to the god himself above the main gate, although the priests say that all activity within the market worships the god. More tangible reward for the god is provided by the 10% fee the cult exacts on all goods entering and leaving the market with cult members. This is raised to 25% for non-cult members, although cult membership can be bought for a fee of 20 crowns and 1 point of temporary POW (1 MP). Temporary membership bought in this way must be renewed on the night of the full moon.

Merchants and traders may become associates of the cult by giving a donation of 100 crowns and 5% of their annual income. The gain access to spells and training from the cult. Travelling merchants may become Caravan Lords? if they have 5 skills at 90% and a POW of 15. Merchants in the city may become Priests of Selemlis? if they have a POW of 18.
