GriffinClanGeographyGriffin Clan occupies the Danger Ground? side of Rodi's Gap?. Their normal hunting grounds extend as far into Danger Ground? as is felt to be safe at any time, but do not extend into the elven parts of either the Bear Woods or the Oakwood. The wooded parts of the Brothers Hills are hunted and foraged, although the White Goat Clan? disputes this on occasion as they can hunt in the same areas. Great Bison Clan? hunts the other half of Rodi's Gap?, although they tend to move with the herds of bison rather than hunting the migrating animals that move through their range. Traditionally the Great Bison Clan? hunts in the valleys of the streams the flow towards the Brothers River and Dwerrow River, while the Griffin Clan hunts the valleys whose streams flow into the Seronde River. The wooded Bear Hills? provide the best foraging ground for the clan, but are normally poor for hunting. NeighboursGreat Bison Clan? shares Rodi's Gap? with Griffin Clan. White Goat Clan? shares Brothers Hills with Griffin Clan. Two troll clans, the Uz Gar Clan? and Draz Dar Clan?, are the nearest troll neighbours to Griffin Clan. Danger Ground? and the Bear Woods are where the human and troll clans most often interact. Like all neighbours, relations can be variable. In times of plenty, the clans will meet to trade goods and even celebrate the hunt together. In times of hardship, the interaction will be more aggressive, each side trying to keep the other off its hunting grounds. The elves of Oakwood rarely bother Griffin Clan, so long as clansmen don't stray too far into their woods. They regard the Brothers River as the border between human Oakwood and elven Oakwood. When they do contact humans, it will often be with the clans of the Trilus Tribe? and the Trilus Citadel?, with whom they share a common worship of Yelmalio?. |
