The General Development Corporation is an Imperial registered corporation active throughout the Tobia Sector? and the Trojan Reach. Its original purpose was to facilitate economic development in the independent worlds of the Reach in order to tie them into the Third Imperium? with the intent of eventual annexation into the Imperium as contributing and productive worlds that would forestall further expansion of the Aslan Hierate?, without requiring massive expenditure of Imperial resources to support economically unproductive planets.
In the centuries that have followed, Ge De Co's focus has shifted towards economic development of trade between the Imperium and the Hierate, as the best way to maintain peace and a stable commercial environment.
Ge De Co owns a number of type A and B starports throughout the Reach, and maintains its own commercial fleets as well a paramilitary forces used for pirate supression.
