Major Races are those that are popularly deemed to have achieved the discovery of the jump drive independently, rather than having acquired it from another race, species or culture.
There are currently regarded as being the following Major Races. Humaniti is both a Major and a Minor Race? because different cultures separated by the Ancients developed or did not develop jump drive independently on multiple planets. The Droyne are similarly both a Major and a Minor Race as they were also distributed across multiple planets by the Ancients depending on the planet, although many xenoethnologists argue that the Droyne are actually only a Minor Race and that their jump drive technology is just copied from Ancients examples that were retained, rather than reinvented.
